Setup guide

From purchase to a running wholesale operation: theme, license, B2B Engine, pages. Most steps take a few minutes; loading your price lists depends on the size of your catalog.

1. Install the theme

  1. Sign in to your account on this site with the e-mail address you used to pay and download the latest version (ZIP).
  2. In Shopify admin open Online Store → Themes → Add theme → Upload zip file and select the ZIP.
  3. Click Customize to open the theme editor. Publish the theme when you are ready.

2. Activate your license

  1. In the theme editor open Theme settings → License.
  2. Paste the license key from your e-mail and choose “Live store” or “Development store”.
  3. The panel confirms the activation and shows until when updates and support are included. Visitors never see this check.

3. Connect the B2B Engine

  1. Install the Bulkline B2B Engine with the link from your onboarding e-mail and approve the plan in Shopify. The free trial starts now; Shopify bills the subscription on your store invoice afterwards.
  2. Open Apps → Bulkline B2B Engine. Create your price levels (or add the default ones) and give each a default discount.
  3. Add level prices per variant under Special prices, or import them from a CSV file. Add individual prices for customers with negotiated price lists.
  4. Under Buyers, verify companies, assign a level and, where you sell on terms, set the credit limit and payment days. Check the result with the Price tester.

4. Set up the storefront

  1. Theme settings → B2B: choose the store mode (retail, hybrid or wholesale-only) and what guests and pending buyers can see.
  2. With Shopify B2B: create companies and catalogs in Shopify; the theme shows their prices, quantity rules and volume pricing automatically.
  3. Without Shopify B2B: mark approved buyers with the customer metafield set in Theme settings → B2B (default custom.b2b_status).

5. Create the B2B pages

  1. Online Store → Pages: create “My account” with handle b2b-portal and template page.b2b-portal. Signed-in customers are sent there automatically.
  2. Create “Quick order” (template page.quick-order) and “Become a partner” (template page.wholesale-application, handle wholesale-application).
  3. Add the pages to your main menu and footer menus.

Moving to another store

  1. In your account, free the store under the license (“Free this store”).
  2. Activate the key in the theme editor of the new store.
  3. Development and staging stores (*.myshopify.com development stores) do not count against your live stores.

Updates and support

  1. New versions appear in your account while updates are included. Download the ZIP and upload it as a new theme; copy your settings with the theme editor.
  2. For help write to the address on the contact page. Include your store’s myshopify.com address and the theme version.
